- "BAR" RECORD-KEEPING SYSTEM
"Bar" record-keeping system
Currently, a well-known "bar" record-keeping system is commonly used to record material transport on construction sites.
A person responsible for handling this system, uses a pencil to draw bars on a piece of paper, in order to meticulously (or not so much) record each construction material loading or unloading operation.
Onaverage, every 4 kilometres of a road (expressway or motorway) under construction requires constant supervision of one person handling the “bar” record-keeping system. Assuming the average contracted road length of 16 kilometres and a two-shift operation, it can be concluded that each such construction site requires 8 employees handling this system. Moreover, one person in an administrative position entering the data obtained into the system must be added.
The calculations clearly show, with the currently used system, we need a total of nine employees to handlematerial transport record-keeping.

Each previously mentioned dumping site and warehouse handles only a limited number of vehicles. It is usually a maximum of 60 - 100 deliveries daily, which results from the entrance and weighing machine throughput or damping capabilities provided by the equipment handling a given site.
On average, 80 deliveries per one warehouse is handled by 20 - 30 vehicles, each of which completing approx. 3 - 5 trips. Not all such trips are completed for our investment projects.
In order to collect full delivery data without employing any personnel for this purpose, all 120 vehicles involved in any construction site deliveries must be equipped with the system. Therefore, the necessity to employ people to handle the "bar" record-keeping system and an office worker can be eliminated.
